Dialogue[edit]

Before event, on the shoreline of Lake Bounty
Suspicious Villager(1): Try to hold back your stupidity, you overgrown feline. Someone is coming.
Suspicious Villager(2): Shut your trap before I decide to use you as bait.
Suspicious Villager(1): If this was my outfit, you'd have been keelhauled long ago.
Suspicious Villager(2): I wouldn't catch anything anyway. Not even bottom feeders would touch your sorry little carcass.
Before event, in Applenook
Suspicious Villager(3): The caravan is approaching.
Veteran Suspicious Villager: (whistle) Get up here. The caravan's getting closer.
Speaking to Traveling Merchant to start the event
Traveling Merchant: You look like you can handle yourself. Interested in a little work?
Traveling Merchant: Last time I came through here, I got robbed by a bunch of pirates on the bridge. Would you mind helping me, please?
Talk more option tango.png What do you want me to do?
We just have to cross the bridge so I can deliver goods to Applenook's market. If anything stops us, you make sure they regret it.
Talk ready option.png I can do that. Let's go.
Talk end option tango.png I've got other things to do.
Talk end option tango.png Not interested.
Event start
Traveling Merchant: Every second we wait means lost profits. We need to get a move on.
Traveling Merchant: Applenook is close, but we've got a big haul. It's a relief to have some help on this run.
Speaking to Traveling Merchant along the road to Applenook
Traveling Merchant: No time to talk, unless you are headed my way. I have to keep this shipment moving or people go hungry.
Talk more option tango.png Where are you coming from?
All the way from Vigil Keep. I like selling to the villagers in Applenook, but getting there unscathed isn't such a sure thing anymore.
Talk more option tango.png What makes the trip so dangerous?
The pirates are like a lingering illness around here. They don't risk the wrath of Lion's[sic] Arch, so they keep robbing villagers or traveling merchants like me. Easy pickings, I guess.
Talk end option tango.png If I see any pirates, I'll deal with them. Safe travels.
Talk end option tango.png Not interested.
Talk end option tango.png Good luck.
Talk end option tango.png I'll get out of your way.
Speaking to Cricket at Applenook Hamlet Waypoint
(Before the caravan has arrived at the bridge)
Cricket: Those people at the bridge look funny. And they smell like the sea. Bleh!
Cricket: There are funny looking-people at the bridge. They have lots of jewelry and dirty clothes. My dad thinks they're up to no good.
Tick green.png I might check it out. Can you show me where they are?
Talk end option tango.png Sorry, kid. I'm not interested.
(After the caravan has arrived at the bridge)
Cricket: There's fighting on the bridge! Hurry!
Cricket: The pirates are killing people on the bridge. Stop them.
Tick green.png I'll head to the bridge right away.
Talk end option tango.png It's not my problem.
Before the caravan arrives at the bridge
Veteran Suspicious Villager: What's the delay? The merchant is headed this way.
Suspicious Villager: The powder was wet. I'm going as fast as I can.
Veteran Suspicious Villager: I didn't ask for excuses. Just get it done. Everyone else, take up your positions.
Once the caravan arrives at the bridge
Veteran Suspicious Villager: Hold it! Give us your cargo or we blow the bridge.
Traveling Merchant: If you blow the bridge, there won't be anything left to take. You're bluffing.
Veteran Suspicious Villager: Bad move. You had your chance.
Veteran Suspicious Villager: You said it would take out the whole crew!
Veteran Suspicious Villager: Well, we're in it now. Attack!
Event success
Traveling Merchant: Good thing you were here to help. Follow me to the market[sic] and I'll thank you properly.
Event failure
Veteran Suspicious Villager: Grab what you can, mateys. We meet up back at the reef.

Notes[edit]

  • The amount of pirates in the initial wave can be lowered by talking to Suspicious Villagers on the bridge before the merchant arrives.
Can get stuck and be impossible to complete, as spawns required to be defeated may not spawn at all.
