Map navigation
Map navigation refers to moving around Guild Wars 2's zones. There are many different methods that can be used to get across Tyria, ranging from unlockable map icons and mounts, to consumable items and infinite gizmos.
Map travel nodes
Guild Wars 2 features multiple ways to quickly or instantaneously travel to areas; the primary methods include traveling via waypoints and using asura gates. There are also other secondary methods such as using the Guild menu to travel to your guild hall and traveling through lounges, as they often provide portals to certain zones and cities. Many zones and regions include travel methods exclusive to them.

They are commonly used to assist in completing jumping puzzles, and some also place an object that nearby players can interact with to be teleported. None of these can be unlocked in the Wizard's Portal Tome, and none can be used while defeated.

Teleportation devices
There are various consumables and gizmos that teleport the character to a specific location. Some lead to major cities or Living World maps, while others will teleport the character back to story-related locations and special instances. As most items are account-bound, they allow other characters to enter a map without having to complete the specific story steps. Living World Season 3, Living World Season 4, and Icebrood Saga also have condensed Portal Tomes available for purchase, reducing the inventory slots needed to have immediate access to all. The Wizard's Portal Tome condenses items further into one single slot.
