Unstable Edge of the Mists Portals were created as a result of Scarlet Briar forcibly creating a portal to the Edge of the Mists in Fort Marriner while breaking Mai Trin out of prison. Prior to the assault on Lion's Arch, the Lionguard and Aetherblades were both attempting to take control over these various portals.
