— In-game description

Using the item will summon an untargetable Shadow Mender that will follow the character around for five minutes. When a nearby ally is Downed, the Shadow Mender will automatically move towards the ally and revive them. The Shadow Mender disappears when the user themselves is Downed.

Notes

Bug:

Does not actually revive allies.^{[verification requested]}

• The user is affected with  Shadow Mender for 5 minutes, and unable to use the item until after the effect dissipates.
• The Shadow Mender only revives during combat.
• The Shadow Mender appears to be impervious to damage.
• Cannot be used underwater. However, the Shadow Mender can swim underwater if the player moves underwater while it is summoned.
• Usable outside of Dragonfall, but not inside of Raid instances or in World versus World.
• The summon will not automatically^{[verification requested]} revive downed allies in the Fractals of the Mists.
• Mounting dispels the Shadow Mender.
• The Shadow Mender reviving doesn't count as the player helping someone up for the purposes of utilities such as the Sharpening Skull.
