Master-at-Arms Neary is one of the three Vigil Officers in charge of the Shaded Spring along with Doctor Elly and Chief Engineer Timblin, and is responsible for the camp's cannons and offense power against the Mordrem. Unlike Doctor Elly and Chief Engineer Timblin, his entire squad was wiped out by a Mordrem Stonehead, of which Neary later tracked down and killed.
