This page lists changes made to attributes in the game, including attributes modified or removed from the game.

Before gamescom and PAX Prime 2010

  • Strength (trait).png Strength — increased melee attack damage.
  • Agility — increase ranged attack damage.
  • Intelligence — increased magic attack damage.
  • Vitality — increased health.
  • Perception — increased critical strike chance.
  • Willpower — increased energy.

During gamescom and PAX Prime 2010

Added effects to attributes.

  • Strength — increased melee attack damage.
  • Agility — increase ranged attack damage.
  • Intelligence — increased magic attack damage.
  • Vitality — increased health; increased defense against melee attacks.
  • Perception — increased critical strike chance for melee and ranged attacks; increased defense against ranged attacks.
  • Willpower — increased critical strike chance for magic attacks; increased defense against magic attacks.

  • Power.png Power — increased attack damage.

  • Critical Damage.png Prowess — Improves the damage multiplier on critical strikes.
  • Condition Damage.png Malice — Improves the damage done by conditions like burning, poison, confusion, and bleeding.
  • Condition Duration.png Expertise — Improves the duration of all conditions inflicted by the character.
  • Boon Duration.png Concentration — Improves the duration of all boons applied by the character.
  • Healing Power.png Compassion — Improves all outgoing heals that your character does, including self heals.
  • Guardian icon small.png Willpower — Reduces the recharge on all virtues; linked to Virtues.
  • Warrior icon small.png Brawn — Improves the damage of warrior burst attacks; linked to Discipline.
  • Engineer icon small.png Ingenuity — Reduces the recharge on all tool belt skills; linked to Tools.
  • Ranger icon small.png Empathy — Improves pet attributes; linked to Beastmastery.
  • Thief icon small.png Cunning — Reduces the recharge of the steal ability; linked to Trickery.
  • Elementalist icon small.png Intelligence — Reduces the recharge of the four elemental attunements; linked to Arcana.
  • Mesmer icon small.png Guile — Reduces the recharge on all shatter skills; linked to Illusions.
  • Necromancer icon small.png Hunger — Increases the size of the necromancer's life force pool; linked to Soul Reaping.
