Fruit is an object found all around Untamed Crags. It is meant to be gathered and deposited into food crates at Hunter's Camp to progress the local renown heart. Picking fruit up grants the  Collected Fruit effect. Five fruit and one meat can be given to Kjartan the Cook in exchange for a Bowl of Stew.
