Discovering Mistburned Barrens is a map meta event that occurs in Mistburned Barrens that consists of three groups of event chains where you assist in conducting a survey into various areas of the Mistburned Barrens. This map meta event features a new participation system that requires players to explicitly engage with consecutive events in a chain for maximum reward.

Objectives

• The Priory is preparing to launch field surveys into Mistburned Barrens.
  • Time until the Priory begins surveying the area: XX:XX (New instance of the map)
    • Field surveys into the Mistburned Barrens have begun.
    • Agony Field Survey
      
      
      • Time until the north field survey starts: 5:00
      • Spectral agony levels in the valley have lowered. It's safe to explore for 5:00.
    • Mistburn Field Survey
      
      • Time until the central survey begins: 8:00
    • Bloodstone Field Survey
      
      
      • Time until the south field survey starts: 3:00

Walkthrough

Each chain of events runs independently of one another and can be at different stages at the same time. None of the events run on a set schedule. Once a meta event chain fully completes or fails, it will repeat from its first step after a brief cooldown window.

Upon progressing or completing the events, certain objects will spawn:

• At the north lane:
  • Upon progressing the event chain, an Astral Ward portal spawns east of the waypoint at the Alliance Staging Ground, and will teleport players to the event area upon interaction.
  • Upon successful completion, 1 node of Bloodstone-Infused Pond Fish and 6 nodes of Mursaat Obsidian will spawn: 2 around Yagon's Gift and 4 further up the valley.
    • A maximum of 18 of these Mursaat Obsidian nodes can be mined per account per day.
• At the central lane, upon progressing the event chain, Journal Fragments will spawn for the Scouring the Archive collection achievement.

Participation and rewards

• Completing events in the event chain grant the  Valley of Agony Participation,  Wraith's Pass Participation, or  Bloodstone Corridor Participation.
  • Requires at least 1 stack for opening the Grand Chest at each lane completion, maximum rewards at 3 stacks.
  • All stacks are lost when re-logging or swapping maps.

Survey: Into the Valley of Agony

• [Group Event] Collect coalesced Mists energy from defeated enemies and throw it into the jade construct before it deactivates (80)
  • [Group Event] Escort the jade construct through the Valley of Agony by throwing coalesced Mists energy into it (80)
    • [Group Event] Defeat Yagon and the captured jade construct (80)
    • [Group Event] Keep the jade construct alive by throwing coalesced Mists energy into it as it fights the titanspawn (80)
    • [Group Event] Overload the jade construct by throwing overcharged coalesced Mists energy into it while it's at full health (80)

Survey: Wraith's Pass

• [Group Event] Craft bows for the survey (80)
  • [Group Event] Find and defeat the source of the Mists runoff scent (80)
    • [Group Event] Weaken and tranquilize Mistburned creatures for allies to research (80)
• [Group Event] Program the golems and bring them to the ruins entrance (80)
  • [Group Event] Find and defeat the source of the Mists runoff scent (80)
    • [Group Event] Keep the areas clear while the golems gather samples (80)
• [Group Event] Escort the Kodan Wildstalker (80)

Survey: The Blood Phenom's Corridor

• [Group Event] Escort Priory Scholar Ciana to the southern ruins (80)
  • [Group Event] Have your warclaw sniff around to reveal bloodstone samples. Return the samples to Priory Scholar Ciana (80)
    • [Group Event] Protect Ciana while she investigates the construct (80)
      • [Group Event] Stop Manikaz from completing his ritual (80)
• [Group Event] Escort Priory Scholar Ciana to the southern ruins (80)
  • [Group Event] Grab a rifle from the pack dolyak and prevent the bees from destroying the scanners (80)
    • [Group Event] Help the southern survey team put the ghosts to rest (80)
      • [Group Event] Stop Manikaz from completing his ritual (80)
