Bonus chest/Rewards

This is an overview of generic event bonus chests. This is not a source for specific events and does not show anomalies, but rather the general structure of the rewards from events in that release's region.

Currencies and some guaranteed rewards may be listed first on individual event pages, despite being shown to the right in the bonus chest. Map bonus rewards are also awarded when applicable.

The Tower of Nightmares

• The three initial events in First Level do not have a chance for the first additional gear drop or champion bags.
• [Group Event] Fight your way to the prisoners (80) does not reward a bonus chest.
• [Group Event] Defeat the hallucination and free the prisoners (80) rewards Pristine Toxic Spore Sample (5) instead of (1).

  • Some group events reward twice that as a bell-curve Ursus Oblige (4-18, 20) (guaranteed)
    • 4 and 20 have very low chances to be rewarded as they only have one combination.
• Map tokens:
  • Most events award 1-2, while some group events give 3-4 instead.
  • For Lowland Shore, Janthir Syntri, and Mistburned Barrens the amount additionally depends on whether the related mastery is trained.
• Ranges of unidentified gear vary by event, with some not having Piece of Common Unidentified Gear as a possibility, or a smaller range for Piece of Unidentified Gear.

Visions of Eternity

Normal Visions of Eternity events reward a bonus chest of one of two types. An event always rewards the same type, which can be easily distinguished by the amount of currencies contained.

"Small"

Anomalies:

• The large chest does not contain guaranteed Shadowstone Fragments.
• The large chest is not improved by the  Prosperity Unending mastery.

Notes

• Additional Renown Token bonus chests are rewarded depending on event location.
• Hearts reward a bonus chest similar to the small chest.
• Hero challenges do not reward bonus chests, as opposed to previous expansions daily repeatable chests.
• The May 12, 2026 game update (The Only Way release) increased the quantity of the currency drops from 5 to 10 and 15 to 25.
