Ikniu is a hylek from the Momoztli tribe. When one of the Orders set out to recruit the tribe, Ikniu beseeches their aid in saving his brother, Sabiti, who was chosen as a champion of Zintl to become an offering to the Risen. However, they arrive too late, as Sabiti has already been killed and corrupted. In order to warn the tribe that their champions are becoming Risen themselves, Ikniu takes his brother's head on a stick to show the tribe's leaders. Despite this, the tribe continues with their tournament to choose a new champion. After convincing the one of the tribe leaders (either Chief Quecuan or High Priestess Ecolotl), the other goes to act in the stead of a true champion, but becomes a dragon champion that leads an assault on Momoztli Grounds, forcing the tribe to relocate.
