  • mw:Extension:Semantic Drilldown does not provide any features that are currently in use on the wiki. These were trialled in 2014 but didn't catch on, and the use cases have subsequently been removed.
  • Drilldown does not play nicely with semantic subobjects which are used extensively on the wiki.
  • The extension is not actively maintained (considered BETA by Mediawiki).
  • Reduce the number of pointless extensions to test during wiki upgrades.
Instructions
Per mw:Manual:Extensions#Uninstalling an extension, this seems to be deletion of the line wfLoadExtension( 'SemanticDrilldown' ); from LocalSettings.php.
Possible pitfalls
  • Potentially there are a very small number of unidentified uses on this wiki, but I have been unable to identify any. Tags assocated with the extension will render in plaintext after it has been disabled, and this will be manually fixed where identified.
