Mirage is an elite specialization for the mesmer unlocked with the Path of Fire expansion. These extremely elusive duelists can enter Mirage Cloak to become intangible and dodge incoming attacks without rolling, to then execute ambush attacks on their unsuspecting enemies.

Mirages have learned deception skills to disorient their enemies while creating Mirage Mirrors, which they then destroy to enter Mirage Cloak. They are also adept at shifting through the battlefield, jaunting all over the place while hiding among their clones, always leaving their enemies wondering which is the real mirage. They can wield axes in their main hand, sturdy but light weapons that improve their mobility. Mirages focus on damage dealing by overwhelming their enemies in conditions, while optionally also providing some boons to nearby allies.
Mirages' profession mechanics are their unique evasion effect and powerful Ambush weapon skills. Mirage Cloak replaces the dodge roll ability, granting the same 0.75 seconds evade, but doesn't move the character and has instant activation time. It allows mirages to dodge during other actions without interrupting them, except while under the effects of hard crowd control or immobilize. Inside Mirage Cloak, mirage's first weapon skills are replaced with Ambush skills, which are more powerful and unique to each main-hand weapon. Clones may also gain Mirage Cloak and Ambush skills whenever the mirage does through the trait Infinite Horizon.

Mirage Cloak is also granted directly through some mirage Deception skills, or through the profession mechanic Mirage Mirror. These mirrors are area of effects created by some Deception skills and the trait Desert Distortion that the mirage can walk into to destroy the mirror, gaining Mirage Cloak, while harming nearby foes.
Notes
* Players wishing to learn more about the Mirage can visit Nasrin Davish in the Crystal Oasis.
* Mirage players lose access to dodge rolling, but become able to evade attacks even in the middle of another action.
Trivia
* A mirage is a naturally occurring optical phenomenon in which light rays are bent to produce a displaced image of distant objects or the sky.
* Mirage was the first elite specialization fleshed out for the Path of Fire expansion. The name drove the development of the specialization.
