[[Maws of Torment]] is a [[meta event]] that takes place in [[The Ruptured Heart]] and [[The Ruination]] within [[The Desolation]], and involves assisting the [[Order of Shadows]] to close three portals to the [[Realm of Torment|realm]] of the [[Forged]], at the [[Western Maw|Western]], [[Northern Maw|Northern]] and [[Eastern Maw]] gates around the [[The Mouth of Torment]].<br />

The events occur on the hour every 2 hours (the odd hours for UTC server time). Closest waypoint is {{waypoint|The Darklands Waypoint}} to the north. * It's possible to use [[United Legions Waystation]]'s [[Remote Charge]], the [[Siege Turtle]]'s [[Slam]] and [[Turtle Siege]] skills, and the [[Skyscale]]'s [[Blast]] or [[Fireball]] skills to damage the Realm Portals and progress the events, especially if the [[Sieging Fireball]] mastery has been acquired. Note that this can completely skip the of the escort event phase of a maw, preventing the collection of Portal Spikes.<br />
* Weakening Maw defenses does not have to be successful for the event to progress, however destroying the realm portals must be successful for it to progress.<br />
* You can only receive one [[The Desolation: Hero's Choice Chest]] per day, either from this or [[Junundu Rising]], but not both.<br />
