{{Heart of Thorns content}}[[Attuned equipment]] is equipment that has been upgraded in the [[Mystic Forge]] to gain one extra [[infusion]] slot. Only [[ascended ring]]s can be attuned. Attuned rings have a total of 2 infusion slots. Aside from an extra slot, attuned items are identical to their non-attuned counterparts.

In addition to attunement, ascended rings can also be [[Infused equipment|infused]], which is a similar process that adds an extra infusion slot. A ring that has been both attuned and infused will have two additional infusion slots, three in total. Attuning and infusing can be performed in either order.

'''Warning:''' Crafting an attuned ring will destroy all [[infusions]] inserted in the original ring. The infusions can be safely removed prior to attunement by using an [[Infusion Extraction Device]], and then reapplied to the new ring.

Attuned rings are created by combining an unattuned ring in the [[Mystic Forge]] with one {{item icon|Agonized Essence}}, {{item icon|1 Agony Infusion}} and {{item icon|Philosopher's Stone}}. If the unattuned ring has already been infused (see the [[Infused equipment#Rings|the infusion recipe]]), then this creates a ring that is both infused and attuned, with three infusion slots in total. Rings with three infusion slots can also be created by first attuning an uninfused ring, then using the infusion recipe.

You must train [[Agony Channeler]] in the [[Fractal Attunement Mastery]] line before you can purchase an [[Agonized Essence]].

== Notes ==
* The upgrading process creates an entirely new item, so you will lose any existing [[infusion]]s on the original, non-attuned gear. Any pieces with selectable stats will also be reset and allow stats to be chosen again.
* The text of the [[Agonized Essence]] item, and the [[Agony Channeler]] mastery track provide brief in-game instructions regarding attuned rings.
* Attuned rings give one additional packet of [[Stabilizing Matrix|Stabilizing Matrices]] when salvaged (typically containing one matrix, and very rarely two). Attuned Infused rings give two additional packets.
* The legendary rings {{item icon|Coalescence}} and {{item icon|Conflux}} or the precursor {{item icon|Hateful Sworl}} have all 3 infusion slots available without the need to infuse or attune them.
