== Gameplay and features ==
* Features dynamic movement-based gameplay on a 5×3 tactical grid, allowing commanders and units to move freely, reposition, and outmaneuver opponents.
* Combines strategic depth with accessibility through mechanics such as knockbacks, pulls, flanking, and shifting offensive and defensive positioning. Commanders actively participate in combat as powerful battlefield units.
* Uses a Commander × Profession system, pairing iconic Guild Wars characters with professions inspired by the nine professions of ''Guild Wars 2'', enabling diverse tactical combinations.
* Preserves the signature Guild Wars visual and audio identity, featuring returning characters, updated presentation, music from original franchise composers, and character-driven voice performances. <ref name=press />

== Trivia ==
* Because the game initially releases in China, several elements were adjusted to comply with local content regulations. The [[necromancer]] uses the [[:File:Chinese necromancer icon.png|alternative profession icon]] from the [[Guild Wars 2 China|chinese version of Guild Wars 2]] that does not depict a skull, while some character designs were modified to reduce visible tattoos and exposed body parts.
